Our first trip to Denver

We just got back from our first trip to Denver and wanted to share some pictures from our 11 day adventure out West.

Here we are with Grandma Stephanie.

This is Mommy's cousin Adam. He lives in Denver.

Auntie Diann's awesome!

But better than Auntie Diann is wrapping paper!

Alice's first piggy-back ride.

The highlight of the trip was learning how to sit up on our own.

Uncle Kevin loves to sit on the floor with us.

This is Grandma Marge. She's Grandma Gail's mommy.

Grandma Gail has 4 sisters and 1 brother. This is her sister, Dana. She lives in Grand Junction.

The day before we left, we took a "family" picture. It was fun to spend time with Aunt Diann and Uncle Kevin and Grandma and Grandpa.

Mmmm...Ribs

Yup -- those are the bones from the ribs that Daddy made for dinner the other night. Mommy said it was OK to suck on them for a while.

Our First Restaurant

We're in Denver, visiting more family members we didn't know that we had. Tonight we went out for dinner with Grandpa Tom, Grandma Stephanie, Aunt Diann, and Uncle Kevin. We went to Mt. Fuji, a hibachi restaurant where they cook right in front of you. We had some of the rice and got to sit in high chairs.

Beer

That great American icon, Homer Simpson, once said, "Now son, you don't want to drink beer. That's for Daddies and kids with fake IDs." I'm not sure what a fake ID is but if it gets me more cold bottles, I'm all for it.

Thanksgiving 2010

This was our first Thanksgiving. From what people tell us, it's a pretty fun holiday with lots of family and lots of food.

Here we are with some of our cousins Yael, Emma, Hannah, Naomi, Sarah, and Phoebe. Every time all of us are together, Grandma likes to take a picture of these 9 grandchildren.

Here we are with a couple of the cousins who really liked to hold us, Hannah and Emma. We're going to see Hannah again in May for her bat mitzvah in Florida. We see Emma lots but we'll see her at her bat mitzvah in September in Cleveland.

Grandma has the greatest rocking elephant. It was first used by Daddy's cousins Ken, Jeff, and Alan. Then Daddy and Uncle Jason used it. All of our cousins played on it. Now it's our turn.

And here we are with Grandpa Bill. He's so great to hold us like this.

Look How Big We're Getting

Now that we're 5 months old, it's time for some changes. First, we're using high chairs and eating dinner with Mommy and Daddy and Helen. So far, our meals are peas but we like them.

And now we have a bedtime routine: wash faces and then read a book. Tonight was Daddy's turn to read to us.

Aren't we out of family members yet?

Aunt Diann came to visit the other week when Daddy was still away for work. She and Mommy had a good week together and spent lots of quality time with us. Daddy took this picture when he got home.

Tummy time

Mommy's been putting us on our tummies during the day a little bit more these days. Look how strong we're getting!

It's a Family Affair

We've got a pretty big family. Now that we're older, we are really excited about meeting new members.

Here we are with Grandpa Tom and Grandma Stephanie. They visited last weekend.

Yesterday, Uncle Jason and Aunt Meredith showed up. We wish they could have stayed longer but they had to get home to their dogs.

Super Genius

All of the greats could do it: Einstein, Edison, Galileo, Copernicus, Newton. You name one. they could stuff their fist into their mouth when they were 3 months old.

Add Alice Levy to that list...

Thank you Grandpa Joe

Grandpa Joe's quite a lover of literature, particularly when it comes to buying stuffed animals for his grandchildren. First there was Helen -- he got her a horse (get it -- Helen of Troy, the Trojan Horse). Now he's got two more grandkids. Alice was easy -- the white rabbit from Alice in Wonderland.

But what to get for Gabi? Anyone know a famous Gabi in literature? Nope? Well, we're just settling for a giraffe for now.

Thanks Grandpa!

Playing Games

My big sister Helen loves to play something called The Dinosaur Matching Game. The other day, she recruited me in her game with Daddy. I don't know that I was much of a help for her.

How great

In the mid-1980s, there was a beer commercial with the catch phrase, "Guys, it just doesn't get any better than this." I couldn't agree more...

Maine!

We got our first taste of air travel when we flew to Maine for Grandpa Bill's 75th birthday extravaganza. Our big sister Helen just loves to fly (maybe because she gets to watch cartoons) so we thought we'd check it out.

Lots of people were in Maine to celebrate Grandpa's birthday. Here are just a few highlights of the 10 days we were there.

Here we are with Grandpa Bill. We were out getting ice cream -- Helen had chocolate with sprinkles and Mommy had something called a milkshake.

We spend lots of time together. Now that Mommy has something called a Moby Wrap, it's easy for us to be super-close.

There are 9 girl grandkids: Emma, Naomi, Yael, Phoebe, Hannah, Alice, Helen, Gabi, and Emma (from left to right). Yes, there are no boy grandkids on this side of the family :)

Uncle Jason and soon-to-be-Aunt Meredith spent lots of time holding us. We liked that. A lot.

And here's the first good family picture of us. This is after our official baby naming ceremony was done.

Play Mat

Mommy and Daddy have been putting us on the play mat quite a bit. We don't do much there, but it's fun.

Gal Pals

We seem to spend a lot of time together... Here are a few pictures for you to enjoy!

Here we are on Daddy's knees.

Here we are in Mommy's lap; Alice is sleeping and Gabi is a bit floppy.

Here's one of us in Helen's bed.

and one of us in our own crib (a second crib is sitting the garage, awaiting assembly),

And here we are in Daddy's arms after a meal!

Speaking of meals, here's two final pics of post-meal comas:
