The Pantry

"Why does Daddy think that he knows how the pantry should be organized? I definitely have other ideas about that."

Alice's 18-Month Update

I had a very unpleasant trip to the doctor for my 18-month checkup today. I measured in at 20 pounds, 1/2 ounce and 32 inches. For some reason, I just didn't want the doctor in the office. I cried when he looked in my eyes, I screamed when he listened to my lungs, and you might have heard my when I got a couple of shots.

It's been a little while since some pictures were posted, so here are some from Thanksgiving time.

Gabi's 18-Month Update

I went to the doctor today for my 18-month checkup. I weigh 23 pounds, 1 ounce and I am 30.5 inches tall. The visit actually wasn't too bad. I got to play with a stethoscope. The doctor checked my eyes and ears and reflexes. And I got 2 shots -- and I didn't really cry at all.

Daddy thought it was time to post a few random pictures.

One of these days, you're going to see us in Sturgis, South Dakota, on our Harley-Davidsons. For now, just be content with mostly safe quadcycles on the living room carpet.

While the Cat's Away...

Daddy had to work the other Saturday so Mommy let us make our own scrambled eggs for breakfast.  Sort of -- big sister Helen made her own and we watched.  Pretty soon we'll be able to do this ourselves.

Halloween 2011

This Halloween thing is new to us. So you dress up like something fun or silly or maybe scary and people give you candy? We're not sure what candy is but we like walking around with Mommy and Daddy so it seems fun to us.

Mommy made extra sure that we were dressed warmly tonight -- it was a little chilly outside.

Here I am, dressed up as Tigger. That's about right -- lots of spring in my step and tons and tons of energy.

And here I am, as Winnie the Pooh. I even have the belly to show for it (I had hot dogs for dinner tonight -- one of my favorites).

Here's big sister Helen, dressed up as Dora the Explorer.

And a couple of nice family pictures.

Dress Up

In honor of Halloween, we thought it would be fun to dress up as Darth Vader. "Helen. We are your sisters."

Chutes and Ladders

Daddy came home yesterday and played with us in the backyard. We're not sure that 16 month olds are doing this much, but we really had fun.

Mmmmm...Junk Food

Don't worry, the cans were empty when Daddy gave them to us.

And what goes best with soda? Chips! And Doritos are the best!

Something's different

There's something a little different about me, but I can't quite put my finger on it. Any thoughts?

New Occupations

Mommy and Daddy took big sister Helen and us to the Zoo yesterday. We saw the new elephant exhibit, lots of primates, and the fish -- our favorites. After seeing all of the great colors of fish and after seeing the octopus in a particularly frisky mood, we've decided what we want to be when we grow up...

Summer fun

It's been a little while since we shared some pictures. Time to fix that.

We've really become infatuated with the piano. It's really just a matter of time until Mommy and Daddy let us start piano lessons.

Helen likes to pile up the pillows for me -- I love to sit on them because it makes me feel bigger.

Is 13 months too early to start drinking coffee?

Daycare was closed yesterday for a teacher in-service so we all went to the Science Center in Cleveland. Mommy and I played with some blocks.

The best part of the Science Center was the plastic balls pit. We really liked sitting in them and throwing balls around.

Now We're Walkin'

Mommy and Daddy really have their hands full now :)

I'm walking

Alice might have two teeth to my none, but I'm walking first.

Dancing Queens

Mommy's been taking banjo lessons, which has allows both of us to work on our dancing. As you'll see, we have very different styles.

Changes Are Afoot

...and in with the new -- sitting in booster seats!

One-Year Party

Last Saturday we turned 1. It's quite a big deal, more for Mommy and Daddy than for us. We had a relatively low-key morning and afternoon. The highlight was having our birthday cookies, chocolate chip of course.

After naps, however, things turned much better. Mommy and Daddy threw a party to celebrate one year of being a family of five. It wasn't a birthday party; it was a celebration of survival. Some pictures for your viewing pleasure.

Here we are playing at the water table. It's pretty fun and we'll probably be using it more as the weather turns warmer.

Note to Aunt Meredith: don't let us feed ourselves icing.

The cake. It was yummy.

Happy Birthday Daddy!

It's birthday central around here. Before we can talk about ours, we want to put up the picture we took with Dad and Helen for his birthday. It was a great day! We spent a lot of time together and with Grandma Gail and Grandpa Joe, who were in for a visit. We slept well the night before and the night of his birthday, which was probably one of the nicer gifts we could have given to the bestest Daddy in the whole wide world.

Before...and After

Mommy finally did it -- she took me for my first haircut. It really was needed. Just look at how long my hair was!
